"Jumanji Onboarding"
Rapid VR Product Onboarding for Teachers
Business Challenge:
The implementation of a VR product in classrooms is heavily dependent on teachers that may or may not have received training due to the high turnover of K12 settings. Teachers are typically unable to invest large amounts of time into figuring out how to use VR headsets and access the product.
Hypothesis:
The creation of a rapid onboarding tutorial that is available immediately on the headset will enable teachers to quickly onboard and utilize the product. If a teacher discovers the headset in a cabinet, they can simply power on the device and it will teach them how to play, hence the title "Jumanji Onboarding".
Design Approaches:
⦾ The onboarding tutorial can operate offline, enabling users to become engrossed before potentially dealing with connectivity issues.
⦾ The onboarding will allow teachers to learn how to use the product without any prior experience.
⦾ The onboarding begins in a classroom setting to make a potentially new technology feel more familiar and inviting.
